When to use Present Perfect Passive?

When is the Present Perfect suitable?
  • Something happened in the past but we don’t say when.
  • Something started in the past and lasts up till now.

  • The agent is unimportant or unknown.

Exercise 1

A ”The chamber of secrets … (open). Enemies of the heir beware!”
B “It ... (call) this way before but not by you.”
C “Our dear friend Christopher Robin … (capture)! By a creature called “the Backson.”
D "It's about the lamb, Colonel." "Where is it?" "It … (set) free.”
E "You’ve read all the Slayer lore there is, right?" "I’ve studied all the extant volumes, of course. But the most salient books of Slayer prophecy … (lose).”
F "Ok, they were pretty and all but that cleaning crew sucked." "Where's our TV?" "I think we... (rob)”

Exercise 2

Change the sentences using the passive voice.
has/have + been + III verb form Wyatt has eaten food. → The food has been eaten (by Wyatt).

  1. The dentist has checked my teeth.
  1. The police have caught the criminal.
  1. We have delivered your package.
  1. The students have decorated the classroom.
